"You look like you should be selling strudel or something"

Updated: Apr 24, 2018

When it comes to clothes, I am a firm believer in wearing whatever I want to wear and not caring what people think. “Those colors don’t match,” well too bad cuz they do, “You look like you should be selling strudel or something,” well maybe I will (true story).

You will feel so much more confident in life if you are happy with yourself and feel good about what you’re wearing.

Friends, life is short. Buy 3$ over sized flannels from a second-hand shop, barter for that vintage dress you love from a street vendor with no shame. Style doesn’t have to be expensive. I could probably count on one hand the times that I’ve purchased something for full price. The SALE rack is where it’s at. I’m equally as comfortable in a dress as I am in jeans or sweatpants. You can make an old outfit look brand new just by mixing it up with different shoes, rolling the sleeves, wearing high socks etc.

$1 socks, skirt from Forever21, shirt from American Eagle

The key to cheap fashion is not being picky whatsoever. Don't limit yourself to a select few stores- look everywhere and anywhere.

I found a pair of "clear" striped socks at T.J.Maxx for a buck, that I now add to any outfit that looks too plain.

(knock off) Birks that I got for about $6

Not gonna lie, I do look like I should be selling strudel.

I bought this skirt in Amsterdam and have been able to get so many wears out of it. You can literally wear anything under it as a shirt and the look is completely changed.

The skirt was my grandma's when she was young - paired with yellow because it's a happy color and goes with anything

As you can tell, I'm a fan of high socks and not looking directly at the camera.

Remember to be creative, try something new and don’t give it a second thought.
